When the green movement first began, I shied away from it simply because it was overwhelming to me. As time has gone on, we have incorporated little things here and there to conserve and reuse. If everyone starts out small, even with just one thing, it really can make all the difference. During our green weeks, Kelli and I plan to give family friendly tips and suggestions that everyone can incorporate into their lives. Three cheers for starting small and achieving greatness.
Today's Suggestion:
Use your paper twice. Newspaper can make great wrapping paper. Old work documents and letters with typos can become drawing paper, magazines can be used for the ultimate rainy day collages with your kids, and one of my all time favorite ideas: save your junk mail, (if you aren't on the no junk mail list). Put it in an old shoebox on a shelf somewhere and pull it out on a day your kids are bored or stuck indoors. They'll spend hours opening the mail, cutting, sorting, peeling off the stickers, and looking at the pictures. You'll be glad you did.

great ideas, brittany! I love wrapping in newspaper but never thought through using the junk mail (after it's already gotten here-- need to get on that do not send list).
