Things I loved this week...

This outfit, seen on pinterest, but I can't find the real source. I love love love it. Wouldn't the girls look so adorable in it?

Marta's layered ramekin cakes. YUM! and cute too.

Page Corner bookmarks DIY tutorial. These would be so fun and well used around our house.

I think this laundry basket dresser is a genius way to ease the pain of laundry day. I absolutely want to make it. The tutorial doesn't look too bad either. Bonus!

Loved this simple but cute way to dress up a cookie mix. Great idea for teacher appreciation week coming up!

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish!

I am so excited and honored that Brittany asked me to guest post on my son's 2nd birthday!

For my son's second birthday, I decided to take off from his current book obsessed: Dr. Seuss' One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. He brings it to me what seems like 126 times a day to be read. It was a no brainer that this would be the theme for his little party.

Last year, I relied on Etsy a lot for his party decor, so I decided to go back this year. I used the amazing seller, Party on Boutique, for the invitation and cupcake toppers…

We had the party at a park and instead of tablecloths, I actually wrapped the picnic tables in fun wrapping I found at Paper Source. It tied in with the theme perfectly. To add a personal touch, I framed a few of my son's 2-year pictures and had them displayed on the tables.

For an added treat, I made some candy coated marshmellow pops. Very simple and very easy. Just put marshmellows on a lollipop stick, melt some candy melts, dip the pop in the melts, dip in sprinkles, and wala! I displayed them in some mason jars filled with swedish fish. They were fun and the kids loved them.

When it came to favors, I always love to do something a little different or unique. I found an awesome seller on Etsy, Brown Bag Bath Bars, that makes homemade soaps. She offered to make red and blue, fish shaped, scented soaps. She even threw in some personalized favor tags!

By the end of this post, you will see that I have a small addiction to Etsy. When it came down to what the birthday boy was going to wear, I knew I wanted something that reflected his big number 2. Picadilly Circus Designs did his shirt and I just loved it.

We didn't really need to plan any activities, since the party was at the park. The kids ran, jumped, skipped and played before it was time to sing Happy Birthday to the little boy of the hour.

By the end of the day, the birthday boy was exhausted and ready to head home for naps. It was such a perfect day and we already can't wait for next year!

Pillow Pet GIVEAWAY!!!

You've heard me discuss pillow pets before, I've come a long way from my original opinion of not needing any more stuffed animals in our home. Pillow Pets recently sent Finn the dolphin and he has fallen in love with it. He sleeps with it, loves it and says "soooooooft, soooo sooooft" in his best toddler gargle. The girls are always trying to sneak it out of his crib and use it for themselves, to say it is well loved would be an understatement. They are all hoping the "Easter Bunny"adds to their pillow pet collection.

If you're hoping to surprise your favorite kids with a pillow pet for Easter now is the perfect time!! 8 different styles are currently on sale AND I have a 20% off promo code (for those 8 styles) for you at the end of the post.. meaning you can get a pillow pet for less than $15, that is a bargain that I say is definitely worth it!

In addition to being soft and snuggly in real life, pillow pets has recently revamped their website to include new styles of pillow pets… check them out, they have some darling ones (orange butterfly and dragon anyone?), games and the pillowpedia section letting you know the different places the characters come from, your kids are sure to get a kick out of the new site.

Along with the 20% off promo code Pillow Pets is giving away your choice of one of the following pillow pets today (Ms. Lady Bug, Magical Unicorn, Comfy Panda, Playful Penguin, Buzzing Bumble Bee, Squeaky Dolphin, Silly Monkey, Snuggly Puppy)! I'm so excited and I hope you are too.

For additional entries become a fan of their facebook page, follow them on twitter, or follow Tangled and True. Just be sure to let me know in the comments for each of your entries! Good Luck!!!!

a favorite.

These are Ryan's very most favorite cookies. They are fun to make, as there is a surprise in the middle, the kids love them, everywhere we've taken them, they receive rave reviews and I've had multiple requests for the recipe, so what better place to put it than on the world wide web? You should make them.. really. They'll make your day!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Cookie:
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
36 Reese's peanut butter cups, unwrapped

Glaze:
2 cups chocolate chips
1/4 cup peanut butter

Combine butter, sugars and peanut butter. Add egg and vanilla. Mix, then add flour, baking soda and salt. Makes a soft dough. Divide dough into 36 balls, push a peanut butter cup into each ball and wrap the dough up around to cover the pb cup. Place on cookie sheet and allow room for cookie to spread while baking. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Melt glaze ingredients and drizzle or frost center top of each cookie. Enjoy!

*thanks to my friend Sara for passing this recipe along, it became a family favorite instantly.

eighteen25… I {heart} you!

First thing in my reader this morning was this DIY project from eighteen25. Those girls are always coming up with stuff that makes my heart skip a beat.

I'm on my way to get supplies to make these as soon as I drop Stella off to preschool. They'll be the perfect addition to Lily's surprise easter birthday party!
