zebra baking mix {mini-giveaway!}

The girls love to bake, as soon as they see the mixer coming out of the pantry they are dragging chairs and stools to the counter as fast as their little legs can carry them. Most days I try to bake while they are sleeping.. until now.

Enter Zebra baking mixes. They are incredible. They taste good and baking with your kids WILL be fun. These step by step baking kits are made specifically for kids and are available in single boxes or gift packs. (Can be purchased online and at your local Whole Foods market. View complete list of retailers here.)

Each kit comes complete with a large full color baking map including two levels of instructions, along with word games, math and science challenges and much more. The girls loved the baking map, the bright pictures, and the feeling of accomplishment they felt when they were able to follow the step by step instructions.

I loved that there was far less fighting and mess, we worked together easily and had more fun than we ever have in the kitchen. Zebra baking mixes will definitely become a staple in our pantry from now on.

Extra Goodness: Zebra Baking Mixes is offering one T+T reader a chance to try out their amazing mixes. Up for grabs is their cupcake and frosting mix (so delicious).

Leave a comment telling me which Zebra baking mix you would like to try by 7am Friday morning and you'll be automatically entered to win. I'll randomly pick and post the winner Friday.

children's books.

Michael Recycle $11.50

Tea for Ruby $11.50

I find Christmas to be the perfect time to add to our book collection. These are two I've been eying for this year, although I'd love your suggestions for some tried and true childrens' books.

Making Leaves.

With our lives currently in a state of chaos, the holidays are upon us and we are in the middle of a big move. As stressful as everything has been, our main goal has been to keep the girls happy and stress free and try to make the adjustment as smooth as possible. This responsibility lies pretty heavily on me as I am the one home with them, so we've been trying to come up with fun activities, some baking (watch for a giveaway tomorrow featuring some of our favorite mixes), crafts and outings. I happened upon this fun craft and have added it to the list of Thanksgiving crafts for this week. Supplies on hand, relatively easy and so many possibilities. Sounds perfect!

What things are you planning to keep Thanksgiving kid friendly and stress-free?

maternity dress.

I love a stylish kids boutique that offers great things for moms as well. Most of us have had the experience of shopping for maternity clothes and it isn't always easy to find things that are stylish and look/hang right over the baby bump. This dress has been added to my must have list.

And whether you are pregnant or not, Simple Me Boutique is offering all Tangled and True readers 15% off your entire purchase (over $35).

little uni.

Little Uni has been a long standing favorite of mine. Their unique designs are not only fun for kids, they are comfortable and high in quality as well (every mothers dream). They've recently released new designs for the holidays. Some of my favorites include Merry and Shiny. The personalized tees would be perfect for your family pictures or holiday greetings!!

Little Uni

After you place your order, just send an email to (info@littleuni.com) with your order information and "LITTLE UNI HOLIDAY" in the subject line and they'll refund you the 10% on your holiday design.

head chef.

I have two things on the brain these days, cooking and stocking stuffers. Perhaps the cooking is because Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and the stocking stuffers, well that has to be one of our favorite parts of Christmas. My dad loves Christmas and stockings are one of "his things", years ago, our stocking stuffers no longer fit into our stockings and we started having pillow cases stuffed with all kinds of gadgets and items specially handpicked by him for us.

I would love to find these little guys in my pillowcase this year! Would you?

the mini mart {mini giveaway!}

I've spent my entire life wishing I kept a journal. I've had countless failed attempts, I always start with the best of intentions and fizzle out within the first week or so. There are so many wonderful benefits from keeping a journal, I try to tell myself that our family blog is at least some documentation of our lives, but it definitely lacks in some areas.

When I came across the blog marta writes, I fell instantly in love. Her writing style, her simplistic views and documentations. Come to find out she has an amazing little shop. Selling these mini diaries that even I can keep up with on a daily basis. I have to say I honestly love them. I think they are perfect for me. On days that I have more time, I can jot down a few extra things and feel good about my efforts. Not to mention the fact that they are fun to go back and read with the girls.

To make it even more appealing, the covers are just my style. Some print, some color and a small enough size to fit in my purse, glove box, really anywhere I'll be. They'll make the perfect stocking stuffers, but be sure to keep one for yourself.

Extra Goodness: WIN ONE! Leave a comment on this post (any comment) and you'll be entered to win. Monday morning I'll pick and post a random winner, Good Luck!!

office space.

My husband received a very sudden and unexpected job transfer back to Portland, so we are in the process of moving on essentially no notice. Lucky for us we had no renters in our house at the time of the news, and so we are moving back to our old house. The only small problem is that our old house is on the smaller side, so I have been scrambling trying to come up with efficient ways to save space, especially with baby number 3 on the way. I am thinking we might have to cook up something similar to this pottery barn office space. Plenty of storage, not a lot of wasted space. Yay or Nay?

myself belts {mini giveaway!}

I love finding things that make my life easier. Belts have been a tricky thing for us so far. I like the look of them, I like that the girls aren't hoisting their pants up all the time, but I don't like that it involves my or another adults help when it comes to using the potty or dressing and undressing for the day.

Myself belts has "produced a patented, innovative belt, one that is kid-friendly and promotes independence!"

The best part, your kids will really be able to do it! They won't be yelling for your help multiple times a day. The belts are well made, they don't look cheesy, and they come in multiple colors and designs. There is something for everyone.

Extra Goodness: WIN ONE!!! Your choice of any belt (excluding personalized or adult belts). Leave a comment by midnight Thursday telling me what belt you would choose. I'll pick and post a random winner Friday morning.

stocking stuffers.

We all know and love how about orange, and they've recently stocked their etsy store full of patterned goodness. Mousepads, postcards and these reversible canvas totes are something you don't want to miss. They fold up small so you can tuck them in a seat pocket or purse. Perfect for library books, kids toys and the grocery store. Affordable gifts or perfect stocking stuffers, you decide.

new plush blankets.

Be sure to check out all the new plush blankets at Mairzey Dotes. They are brilliant. Also worth noting, any order placed between now and November 21st will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate.

superhero party.

I love planning parties, it's almost a stress release for me. Throwing myself into the decorations, invitations, food and more, it makes me happy just thinking about it. Today as I was browsing some of my daily reads I happened across this incredible birthday party. One of my girls must be having a party like this next year. It is perfect for boys or girls and I love everything about it. The colors, the activities, the invitations, it is in my book one of the best I've ever seen. View more pictures here.

meet hawk.

Allow me to introduce you to Hawk. A little suburban dog, his many friends, and their great adventures, all captured on canvas. What little boy wouldn't fall in love with Hawk and his friends (be it a deer, owl, turtle or bird)?

Marnie Vollenhals created her own company J. Austin Ryan after years in the art industry. Each piece she creates delivers a unique style bringing modern, retro and classy art styles together. All of Marnie's pieces are hand-painted and done in small batches. Each and every one has her stamp of quality and won't be sent out unless it's perfect.

So take heart in the adventures of a little dog, let these paintings take you back to the days of imagination and childhood innocence. I know they did for me.

*Through November 17th purchase any item or items totaling $15 and receive a free print of your choice. Another perfect addition for your holiday list!

glockenspiel.

My girls both experienced a glockenspiel for the first time in their Kindermusik classes. They LOVED them, but until now, I

a: didn't know how to spell glockenspiel and
b: had no idea where to find one.

Imagine my surprise when I happened upon this little beauty. I can hardly wait to surprise them for Christmas. They will love the addition to their instrument collection and I will love the clear sweet tone, that is much milder than some of their current favorites.

happy chickadee.

With so many different boutiques out there it is really refreshing to come across one like happy chickadee. They've combined hand made and boutique designer clothing and accessories for little girls ages 0-4. And while boutiques for little girls abound, happy chickadee has designs and a selection I haven't found anywhere else. The color combinations are fresh, the designs are new the selection hand picked and in my opinion pretty much perfect.

Started by two mothers... "they wanted to find a spot that specialized in just girls clothes. So they went about trying to find the best, most hip and fresh girls boutique out there. But it wasn't to be found. Each mom had visions of their ideal online boutique and when combined, Happy Chickadee came to be."

You'll be glad they combined their ideas and vision, because the outcome is brilliant. The softest of fabrics, high quality and unlike clothes you'll see everywhere else. The perfect addition to your holiday shopping.

Pumpkin Spice Thermal Top by Baby Sara $38

Pumpkin Spice Pants by Baby Sara $50

and for only $5 your purchases comes packaged so beautifully you'll wish every present under your tree was from happy chickadee!!

To sweeten your holiday shopping happy chickadee is offering tangled and true readers a 20% discount on all orders by using code true20 at checkout!

cnk designs jewelry {giveaway!}

For whatever reason I am drawn to hand stamped jewelry. I love it. I could stare at it all day. I don't know if it is because I love the look of it or if it is because I love that each design has meaning, but whatever the reason, my latest favorite comes from CnK-designs.

Every piece is completely handcrafted using fine silver, sterling silver and genuine gemstones. There is no other piece just like yours and each has a rustic finish. While some of their peices are already made and ready in the shop, they happily accept custom orders based on your own ideas and style. I have included some of my very favorites:

Free Spirit necklace
$45

Etched Tree necklace $60

Today CnK designs is giving away one of their custom pieces pictured below. I have the exact one, wear it every day, receive tons of compliments and have added it to my Christmas lists for some of my very favorite people.

Personalized Charm necklace $110
(your choice of 2-3 charms)
