moonstruck.

It's been a long week and last night found me making my way through all kinds of fog to Moonstruck Chocolates. If you've never had them, they are a must. Seriously, other chocolates don't compare... If you don't live near one, they ship! So they'd be a perfect Valentine's surprise for someone you love. My favorites? The Hazelnut tower, Mayan and the Sea Salt Caramel.

I am loving this nursery put together by Ali Edwards. It is the perfect mix of new and old.

help make a change...

I just came from reading sarah jane's blog with I must say one of the best and most comprehensive posts detailing what is going on with the new CPSIA law. I highly recommend reading it and taking action... making your voice be heard. I will be.

so good.

These are seriously so good. Everyone that has tried them has loved them.

1/2 c. coconut
1 T. oil
1/2 c. shallots chopped
1/4 c. fresh ginger
2 T. chopped garlic
1 lb. ground pork (I use 1/2 ground turkey and 1/2 ground sausage)
juice of one lime (I used about 3/4 of the lime for juice)
3 to 4 T. diced green chiles
2 to 3 T. soy sauce
peanuts

Stir coconut over medium heat until golden and crisp. Remove and set aside. Add oil to pan and place over medium heat. Add shallots, ginger, garlic and meat. Stir until no longer pink. Add lime juice, peanuts, coconut, chiles and soy sauce to taste. Can also add fresh mint.

maternity photos.

Maternity photos. What do you think of them? Are they an absolute for you? Or do you shy away from the camera especially when pregnant? I have never done maternity photos, I haven't ever wanted them, but when I saw the picture above I loved it. I want a picture like that. And so I feel torn, with no real pictures of the other pregnancies, should I be taking pictures of this one? I think I love this one because it wouldn't show my bare belly that is not so attractive or my swollen nose, and yet I am still debating.

tailored tadpole {giveaway!}

I have to believe that every mother out there has days that a lounge outfit is in order. I have those days, recently they are far more frequent as clothes get more and more uncomfortable. For so long I was quick to put my children in their designer jeans and button up shirts, until one day I came to the conclusion that they needed lounge days too (though their lounge days are much cuter than mine). I have come around to comfortable and soft cottons, they've improved drastically in the last 5 years and Tailored Tadpole is living proof. These lounge outfits are to die for. So soft, so comfortable and on top of it stylish. The best part, I'm happy to leave the house with the kids in clothing they can actually breathe in.

But lounge suits aren't all the Tailored Tadpole makes. Their organic cotton tees are fresh and fun, their blankets - the ultimate in modern funky designs and micro-fiber softness, and their pillow cases well the name suits them well. The Ultimate Pillowcase.

Since the day ours arrived the girls have fought over who would sleep on the soft pink pillow. They absolutely love it, but I love it too, not for the fighting that ensues but because it is hypoallergenic and stain resistant. Absolutely perfect.

Today the Tailored Tadpole is giving one Tangled and True their choice of lounge suit and pillowcase... how will you decide?

Which Tailored Tadpole design is your favorite?

eleven collection.

As Lily was transitioning from toddler shoes to kids shoes, I found myself in search of the kind of shoes I had fallen in love with for her younger self. I wasn't finding much until I happened upon Eleven Collection. Sister company to my favorite toddler shoe See Kai Run, I was ecstatic to say the least.

The styles are a bit more grown up but feature the same quality and impeccable style that I know and love.
Our mission is to create wonderful shoes for little travelers who make each step an adventure. Based in the Northwest, Eleven combines quality footwear with independent style and modern accents.
Eleven shoes feature soft leather uppers and flexible durable rubbers soles providing superior traction.  The high quality leather is naturally water resistant and each style features easy on and off Velcro or zipper closures. Available in girls, boys, boots and sandals.

I'm happy to say with Eleven we've crossed over into kid shoes without missing a step.

PHYLUM KINGDOM {giveaway!}

I can't even tell you how excited I have been for this giveaway. I don't remember the last time I saw something this innovative, fresh and just outright cool. The styling of the pictures (view more here), the jewelry itself, I could stare at it all day long. It makes me happy just thinking about it.
Most jewelry doesn't really enthuse me. So I thought I'd try my hand at making some that does. After all, if all art is collecting and arranging and rearranging the arrangements, who says I can't clew my talents, throw the output at the wall and see what sticks. This wall turns out, is the interweb. Here it is in stage one of production, the conceptually driven...

You'll find the etsy store stocked full of design after design of nature inspired goodness. Each comes packaged just like a bug display and the names (though most I can't pronounce) make me love the line even more, so much so, I find myself wanting to surprise everyone I know with a PHYLUM KINGDOM piece just so they can experience the wonder for themselves.

I've been dropping hints to my husband for Valentine's day... I'm hoping he's picking them up. Here are just a few of pieces I would love to have. Vegrandis vigeo earrings, Pyrrhia umbra necklace, Cuprum cerule earrings and the Aphelion vitum necklace.

Each piece makes a statement without screaming "look at me" and isn't that exactly how jewelry is supposed to be?

Todays winner will receive the Acerglabrium orbis ($42) inspired by old tree rings, the wood hangs suspended from nylon copper wire, 26".

Which PHYLUM KINGDOM piece is inspiring you?

b blanket {giveaway!}

When I found out about the newest line of Rain or Shine Kids, I was thrilled. The Woobee is one of my all time favorite and used blankets. We take it everywhere, the beach, the park, hikes... you get the idea. So when Heather (owner and designer) said they'd created the b blanket at a more economical price point, I couldn't wait to see it. The b blanket is a water-resistant fleece with ribbon ties and sports the same quality you've grown to know and love from Rain or Shine Kids. (also worth noting, there are currently sample b blankets for sale for only $20... so stock up for yourself and for gifts!)

The day it arrived we started using it, even though it's supposed to be for the new baby, it has been perfect for all our outdoor activities despite the crazy weather we've been having keeping the girls warm and dry. I'm sure the baby won't mind that his sisters have pre-approved the blanket for him...

Lucky for you, Rain or Shine Kids is giving away the celery green blanket today (a $36 value)!

Q Collection Junior {giveaway!}

At Q Collection and Q Collection Junior, we don't just sell products - we sell peace of mind. People Safe. Planet Safe.
With all the recalls, new laws and constant information coming in about the harmful products and ingredients being used in our childrens' environments, peace of mind is worth a lot. Q Collection has been designing and creating beautiful furniture and textiles that are safe for people and the planet for a long time . More recently they've started creating the same things for children, especially infants. It hasn't been easy, but they are proud of the fact that they have an entire line of children's furniture and bedding made to the same standards they've always maintained, and while it may have been challenging, it was absolutely worth it!

The collection is beautiful. It's whimsical and elegant, it is the perfect amount of modern... and has been used by even the most famous of celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Kidman, but don't let that be the convincing factor. Allow Q Collection Junior to speak for itself.

It's easy to fall in love with, and knowing your baby is fast asleep on bedding that is perfectly healthy will help you rest at ease, what could be worth more?

Today Q Collection junior is giving away a set of their Celestial Parade Crib sets (that's a $400 value)!

tiny sprouts {giveaway!}

If you're looking for the best in design your own clothes, look no further. Tiny Sprouts has long been a favorite of mine. The whimsical freehand embroidery, the ultra soft cotton, the hand dying. It pretty much does not get better than this for me. From brand new infant to your grade-schooler Tiny Sprouts has something for you.

A recent addition that I absolutely love, the grow-with-me chart. It's the perfect way to document your childs growth, and you'll be proud to display it in your home, even out in the open.

Also new to Tiny Sprouts is the itty-bitty apron. Your future chef will love whipping up a batch of your favorite cookies in this apron complete with their name on it.

And with the little bambino only 6 weeks away, I have to mention the welcome home ensemble. I've had my eye on it for over a year, waiting and hoping that this will be what the little man leaves the hospital in. It's the perfect amount of softness and individuality, but if I'm being honest the kimono style shirt really sold me. I love it.

Today Tiny Sprouts is giving away a $75 gift certificate. Anything you like, customized, hand dyed and made especially for you.

What will you be designing for your little one?

oopsy daisy baby {giveaway!}

Oopsy Daisy Baby was one of the hottest ticket items during the Nie Nie auctions this summer, and why wouldn't they be? They make the most darling photographs you can imagine, and what little girl wouldn't love to have a pettiskirt and top added to her wardrobe? I know of two little girls (mine) who I have to PEEL them off of. They spend hours twirling and spinning and oh so pleased with themselves.

This holiday season I fell in love with the new line that was introduced. The Ivory lace petti, the black sleeveless dress...they really are almost any girls dream.

Oopsy Daisy baby began six years ago when Daphne Henderson set out to create unique, timeless, heirloom-quality clothing for children, and I won't be the first to tell you all pettiskirts are not created equally. These feature the finest details including handmade embellishments and custom ribbons, you won't find a better one out there.

The petti's come in a wide variety of colors, my favorites are the aqua, raspberry and of course the red. On my list of things to do this year... recreate the photo below with Stella. I can hardly wait for the weather to turn a little warmer.

Today one reader will walk away with a petti and tank of their choosing, which color is at the top of your list?

rattled {giveaway-a-day!}

Shopping for baby boy has really thrown me for a loop. I guess I never realized how hard it can be to find basics. When I happened upon Rattled I wanted to sing out loud (I think I may have). It was so refreshing to find something so simple and yet so perfect. They have found a brilliant assortment of colors ranging from neutral to bright, and the softest fabric that is just the right thickness {read: it washes well and holds the shape and color}.

Available to purchase in singles, a set of all one color or a funky combination you put together, Rattled gives you the choice, and I love choices! The best part of all, no matter what you choose you'll feel good knowing your baby is dressed in soft organic cotton, and that 10% of their annual profits are used to help children in need. It's a win win.

The basics come in five different styles including onesies, long sleeves or short, pants and hats and enough colors that it's a little hard to decide. I love the orange, the gray and the navy, but white and brown are up there too.

Today Rattled is giving away a set of your choice, a top, bottom and hat (a $55 value). What color combination will you be putting together?
