deceptively delicious

I'm thrilled about Jessica Seinfeld's {wife of Jerry} newly published cookbook: Deceptively Delicious. She brilliantly disguises pureed vegetables in regular kid friendly food {think: chicken nuggets coated with sweet potato}. Now you can sneak vegetables into your children's diet, and they will be none the wiser. I'm definitely on board. {Shh...don't tell my kids} $25.

  1. Allison, have you tried the recipes? I'm so curious. I saw the Oprah show and think it's a pretty good idea..

  2. Some of my own tricks: finely chopped spinach, zucchini, bell pepper, and/or carrots added to lasagne, marinara sauce, chili, enchilada filling, calzones. It adds great flavor, all the healthy properties of veggies, and nobody ever knows! It's so simple! My hubby, a non-lover of veggies, consistently raves about these "amended" dishes.

  3. I am already trying some of her ideas but have not yet purchased this book. I will because it is such a great approach to starting your kids on a healthier diet. It is my New Years res...we will see how it goes!
