jesse walker {a-giveaway-a-day!}

I'm a knitter at heart. I've bought the how-to books and the fancy apple green yarn and have sat practicing my purl stitch too many times. I have yet to complete a project. I'll get it when I find the spare time for new projects, but in the meantime, I've found the good stuff by Jesse Walker. As you know, I fully support handmade and love the purity found in all of Jesse Walker's goods made by hand (not a loom), in America, by good and talented women across the country.

Jesse Walker is the creation of the designer and owner, Dale Pollak Schlauch. Jesse Walker is named after Dale's two children Jesse and Willy Walker. The Company was started 5 years ago after Dale decided to stop teaching Preschool and stay home with her kids. Knitting since age seven, the next to come was obvious.

Although their company carries both knit and sewn (and are well known for their outdoor blanky, previously featured on Tangled and True), I love the lovely bohemianism in wearing 100% hand knit. It's all a bit Anthropologie-esque for the next generation; it feels authentic and organic. Just different in the best of ways.

Bring customized and unique into your child's wardrobe in 2008. I'm excited about the cupcake hoodie, puppet mittens, ice cream lovie and patchwork scarf... to name a few from the collection. Even more so, I'm thrilled to announce that one of you will win and design your very own patchwork sweater ($100), choosing 4 yarn colors from a selection of 55 as well as the size of your choice (6 months to 6 years). If you're anything like me, it's the closest that knitter at heart in you will come to turning up anything wearable.. and nothing short of fantastic.
How would you express yourself, Jesse Walker style?
