a girl can dream.

I agree that a headboard completes the bedroom {or boudoir}: "It provides a focal point and makes the whole room more inviting." If you can't afford the standard wood or brass version, we finally have a how to {thanks to Martha, of course} for a shortcut. In Blueprint's Cut and Paste Makeovers, they suggest cutting a silhouette out of graphic wallpaper. The instructions {and patterns} for this virtual headboard are all available here.

swivel!

I need to find a place in my house for this apple green swivel chair. Only $60 at Target, not bad, I don't think. And it would look perfect pair to a white built-in desk in a certain home office.

wall.paper.

I saw the photo above on Black Eiffel and can't keep from going back to look at it. I love the wallpaper. I know wallpaper is really in right now, but I've never found a print that makes me think of actually using it. Until now. I absolutely love it.

playspot.

After our tremendous response to FLOR carpet tiles, sharing Skip Hop's Playspot {interlocking foam tiles} was a must.

"Large in size {6 feet by 4.5 feet} and large in style," the play area can be defined while being comfortable.

Unlike other foam tiles that are only safety-rated for children 3 and up, Skip Hop’s Playspot is designed, tested and manufactured for children of all ages. It’s easy to put together with our unique connector system, and you can configure it in endless ways to fit your style.

It's a contemporary nursery's (or home's) dream come true! $79.00.

man bags.

Several years ago, after our pregnancy was definite and we were starting to make our first "baby" purchases, Bradley insisted on having a man diaper bag. I didn't hesitate for a second since this meant that he was willing to (and planning on) carry(ing) the load of all baby necessities that accompanied every outing. My enthusiasm for a new bag matched his. I quickly headed to the Oilily store on Newbury Street and purchased one of their colorful and unbelievably cool flower prints that was marked down to nearly a third of the original price. I made sure to get plenty of use before it was converted into a diaper bag and ever since... it still proves my favorite!

After my perfect find, I was determined to come across the same for my husband. He's definitely a canvas messenger bad kind of guy, so the Skip Hop Duo {in brown canvas} was the find I had been hoping for. We still used it weekly.

Just a couple of days ago, I got an email from one of our friends and readers. She wanted to know my favorites of the man bag options on the market. Skip Hop was my first answer of course. Others?

*the ju ju be JJB Messenger.
*diaper dude's grey diaper bag.
*dad gear's basic camo.

Are there others we should know about?

anti-plastic?

I know I'm all about using reusable grocery bags and I really am. I love the look, the durability, and the green-factor. But. If I were to use plastic bags on a more usual basis, I would definitely get one of these.

It has always bugged me to come home from the market with loads of plastic bags to just stuff them inside one another and throw them under the sink in a wad (or in a drawer) or worse yet, in the trash bin.

At least this snazzy storage bin hides the clutter and gives you a reason to re-use the bags. Easy to store too.

holiday chargers.

I know the holidays are months away, but when I found these I immediately thought of festive Halloween-New Years dinners with lots of family around. Wouldn't these make a lovely backdrop to your dinner plate {and it's different that just the usual solid charger plates}. I love.
