I've never been one to have a celebrity crush or a need for things, but Spot On Square makes my stomach flutter. They truly did get it spot on!

Ryan has accused me of caring more about the look of what goes into our house than the functionality of it. This may be true, but I think in my search for the ultimate play room storage I have covered all my bases. The jax toy box.

You might remember this search? I was determined to make it happen and was thrilled to learn {days after that post} that Kiersten of Mod Mom Furniture had her very own and very lovely modern table design. The green? And the birch wood? And hand-craftedness? Just fantastic. In fact, I was so sure that this was what I was searching for that I quickly placed the order for my very own custom Eammon Table and Patrick chairs.



I love it. I never second guessed that the construction would be flawless and sturdy, the detail inspiring, or that Cole would take to using child-sized furniture. {His routine: running to the chair full speed just to sit all by himself and muster a 20 month old "wow"!} But what comes with purchasing Mod Mom furniture is unique: an instant follow-through, a carefulness, an enthusiasm and an easy appreciation for one talented mama working from her garage. In fact, apart from Kiersten being skillful and honest, she's friendly. And that's a nice change.

The Eamonn table is handmade from beautiful birch ply with Baltic birch (painted green) lazy Susan on the center top for easy access to crayons, markers, etc. The table easily accommodates four friends and is hand sanded for an extra soft/smooth finish.

Q collection junior.

A Google search for nursery storage led me to Q Collection Junior. It's fantastic..

I'm especially drawn to the Stella Stackable with Star Door Pulls. It's a beautiful solution.. although a little pricey for my budget. I hope to see more of them.

Apartment Therapy: the nursery recently mentioned Cookie's article on rooms/pieces that can adapt over time. "It's light on the earth and on your wallet." I like their ideas.

Instead of buying a changing table, take an old dresser (about 30 inches high is ideal), paint it to match the room, and top it with a changing pad.

This old-fashioned-looking crib keeps up with the times by converting into a daybed (it can also be turned into a canopy crib). Venetian 3-in-1 crib, $875, Bratt Décor.

I'm determined to buy Cole a table and chair set for Christmas. All day long he wants to color with the coloring pencils and sheet of stickers he found in grandma's kitchen drawer. (Since, we have made a trip to Target and bought him is very own pad of drawing paper and twistable Crayons.) I love this phase. And I love that we have transitioned (even for a matter of days) from trucks to art. The kid needs a little encouragement: an art station!

But, for me, buying furniture is like buying shoes: it takes me a while to find the perfect set. And I have a hard time going cheap with either. So I've been on the search. I'll share my favorites:
