office space.
My husband received a very sudden and unexpected job transfer back to Portland, so we are in the process of moving on essentially no notice. Lucky for us we had no renters in our house at the time of the news, and so we are moving back to our old house. The only small problem is that our old house is on the smaller side, so I have been scrambling trying to come up with efficient ways to save space, especially with baby number 3 on the way. I am thinking we might have to cook up something similar to this pottery barn office space. Plenty of storage, not a lot of wasted space. Yay or Nay?

I like it. We are moving into our first home if all goes well by the beginning of December. This new house in the kitchen has a place built in to put a desk, but it is half the size. It has been hard to find something to put into the space.
ReplyDelete{Coming out of stalker mode} I LOVE this and have ripped that page out of many of the pottery barn catalogs. I did a much smaller version of that with a dry erase calendar, small cork board and a small dry erase board. They're all framed in black (from Target) and have them hanging in my laundry room since we enter and exit the house through that door. It's worked well for us! Best of luck with your move.
ReplyDeleteWe have a small space for our office as well and it has to serve several different functions. We used components of the Elfa system from the Container Store and it turned out great and didn't break the bank. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteyay, i love it. my sister in law used just a few pieces from that modular organization set of PB's. it looked great!
ReplyDeleteand congrats on the new job, how exciting!
I think it's great!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your move...been there done that more than a few times! I actually miss it strangely enough :)
Yay! I love this look especially when you don't have a lot of space. I can't wait to see the finished project in your new home.
ReplyDeleteI like it! It makes excellent use of wall space and the 'everything in its place' look really appeals to me. Best wishes for a smooth move!!
ReplyDeleteWe have that in our kitchen and it works great. Especially the calendar. It keeps me and my husbandon the same page of what is coming up that month. And it is stylish too! Good luck on the move.
ReplyDeletedefinitely yay. i have had my eye on that whiteboard/charging station for months. we have a million ipods, phones, cameras, gps watches, etc. to charge and they all lay all over our house with their wires driving me nuts! i like that whole line and think it looks great, but i think a few of the pieces are a little overpriced.
ReplyDeleteYAY! We have this in our space and it keeps us organized. I have the plain whiteboard & the one in the picture that is on the bottom right. It keeps all of our keys, mail, pens, and other items organized. We use this everyday. Highly recommended! Good Luck with the move!
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot. Definite YAY.
ReplyDeleteLove it! It is clean looking and can hold a lot of goods! Just make the Container store your friend and all will work out.
ReplyDeleteWow, a sudden move sounds crazy!
ReplyDeleteMy workspace is a little corner in our apartment, so we've had to be creative, too. I love how they utilized the wall space.
YAY!
ReplyDeleteless is always more of course, at least it inspires more. you are embrassing it. Can't wait to see what you do with it girl:))
ReplyDeleteYAY! I have been coveting system this for many years now...
ReplyDeleteyou'll love it! we have this in our breakfast nook minus the desk. i've tried several different things to keep me organized being a mom of 3. this by far has worked the best.
ReplyDeletegood luck on the packing & move.
