natural pod {giveaway!}

With the completion of Lily's second day of school I have seen a change in her. Her creativity his piqued, she's more interested in painting, play-do, and crafting than she has been over the summer. Watching a child create is one of my favorite things, their imaginations take over, a blob becomes a monster or a fairy princess, a squiggle a horse or monkey and best of all they aren't watching TV. Natural Pod has become my go-to for imaginative toys, they're selection of natural toys, art supplies, dolls and musical instruments can't be beat.

Today they are offering one lucky reader their back to school arts and crafts pack, which is beyond incredible and will create multiple opportunities for your little one to use their imagination.

Pack includes:

Organic Playdough (set of 6) $35

Playdough has always been a way for a child's imagination to take shape. This organic playdough has been specifically formulated to be soft and smooth, made with the finest all natural ingredients including plant extracts and natural preservatives, the containers recyclable and the unfinished wood crate holds the playdough, but can be used for decorative storage in your home.

Colours: purple sweet potato, tumeric yellow, caramel brown, spinach green, annato orange and "no colour"

Water Color Painting Board (small) $11

Handcrafted from 5-ply birch wood and sealed with a non-toxic, low VOC natural nish that protects against warping, these boards are perfectly suitable for wet-on-wet painting and will outlast most other boards on the market. 15" long and 11.5" wide.

Watercolor Brushes $12

These brushes are handmade using natural materials from sustainable resources. They are ideal high-quality brushes for wet-on-wet watercolor projects.

Woolpets Sleepy Sheep Kit $15

This kit is designed for those new to needle felting. It includes step by step instructions with photographs for each step. Made from Romney and Merino wool. Children under the age of ten should have adult supervision as it does use a sharp needle.

fawn & forest {giveaway!}

For me back to school has always been a little like New Years. It's a new beginning, an opportunity to try harder, learn more, and be better than the year before. So I've set a few back to school goals for the girls and I and fawn & forest is the perfect place to start.

Goal 1: This year we're hoping the piggy banks sitting atop the girls dressers can help us teach them about saving, spending and some basic math skills, including counting, adding and subtracting. It's a fun and effective way to help your kids. Let this piggy bank be the start of making your favorite child into a math wiz!

Goal 2: Our kids are young enough that they still have lunch at home even with school in the mornings, lunches can be a challenge but I'm hoping with fun and interesting presentation they'll gobble up all those good for you foods! This Melamine set in your choice of green/blue or red/orange (pictured above) is sure to please even the pickiest pallet. 100% dishwasher safe.

What fawn & forest product will you put in your cart?

candlewick press book bundle. {giveaway!}

If we are to remain a literary people, we must turn off the television and read books to our children. But what to read? In this glutted market, mediocrity reigns.

Not so at Candlewick press. . . . Lively stories, superior art, and revisited classics are hallmarks of this employee owned company.

There is really nothing I love more than adding books to our collection. I so enjoy curling up with the girls under a blanket and reading them stories! It's a bonding time for us, a learning time for them, and a relaxing time for me. There's nothing like discovering the pages of a good book. Candlewick Press only publishes books they believe in, books that speak to children and that have the highest quality of words and pictures. That is reassuring to me, reassuring that no matter what book I choose to order from them, it will be the best of the best.

Today in continuing on with our back to school week, Candlewick Press is adding to the library of your children, one lucky reader will win a book bundle perfect for ages 3-7.

Included in the bundle...

see kai run {giveaway!}

Today is a big day for us, the first day of pre-school. I am still adjusting to the thought and reality of a child in school. It's exciting, it's a little sad, but this week we're hoping to focus on the exciting by bringing you four days of amazing giveaways! So check back every day this week and have one more reason to celebrate back to school!

I'm thrilled to start off with one of my favorite companies. They are incredible and in my opinion one of the best toddler shoes out there. From their butter soft leather to their flexible sole (perfect for developing feet). They are sophisticated, classic and modern with a twist. The new fall line features brilliant colors and styles in both boys and girls, it just doesn't get much better than that. To celebrate your toddlers back to school, or in some cases, very first day of school See Kai Run is giving away a pair of shoes of your choice.

Will you choose:

The Yuna

The Kian

or some other? Whatever you choose, I know it will be a favorite of yours and your toddler.

Which pair will you put in your cart?
