Hi. It's Kelli and Missy here (just like old times). We thought we would jump back in this once to throw a big party: lucky virtual baby shower GIVEAWAY #7! We're both expecting our boy or girl #2 (respectively) in the next month or several, have clearly reached that nesting/collecting phase, and wanted to pass along some of our very favorite baby gear to you- one very lucky you who will win this all!
Charles Lamb said, "Mother's love grows by giving." We like that idea and so did the 14 mother-run companies below, who together are offering nearly $1,000 (yahoo!) in modern parenting must-haves/wants all to one winner. Let's celebrate:
baby bisou: one baby carrier of the winner's choice; $140
"Smart, stylish, good for your baby" is a tagline that every mother and father (because finally- a sling that caters to both!) hopes for when buying baby gear. Baby Bisou has done just that with their infant to toddler carriers that combine function and style with their sturdy, all cotton, Mei Tai influenced designs. They allow for front or back carrying styles, better support baby's hip, spine and pelvic development with a wide seat, are reversible, washable and easy to wear with only 2 buckles, a foam padded waist band and handy zippered pocket. And very pretty! Made in California with 10% of profits donated to charities for children. *Keep an eye out for new prints coming in October!
little uni: a gift certificate for 2 personalized tees; $64
presto bingo: one framed print of the winner's choice; $75
cucuyo designs: one cucuyo travel set, including a matching ori (changing pad) and new! honu (travel blanket); $86
mango ink: a $75 gift certificate towards the winner's choice of announcements or thank you cards.
little pharo: $50 gift certificate for purchase of your favorite Little Pharo products.
klt works: kiki the kitty onesie and (new) kiki the kitty plush pillow set; $58.
nix baby: 3 sets of socks (6 pair); $48.
md moms: one baby silk to-go travel set and one packet of (all-new!) gentle all over clean cleansing towelettes; $40.
chittypulga: under the nile organic cotton baby gift basket; $46.
Phew! Quite the lineup.. yes! Take a moment to browse these fantastic companies and tell us how you're left inspired.

Little Uni is the perfect product of 2 friends/moms/graphic designers who saw a need for the hip and modern that still embraced the simple and sweet. With the combination of "classic shapes and funky patterns," a business of baby tees, onesies, pants + hats was born. Sewn (non-cutesy) appliques on 100% cotton American Apparel garments that prove unique, handcrafted and have the option for personalization is a cherished find.. and I have yet to meet its match. Mix, match + personalize your favorite.
dee&lala: a set of 4 letterpressed wall prints; $100
blabla kids: the "Peeko" boogaloo and "Ukelele" birdie rattle; $67
It simply doesn't get better than letterpress... in modern animal prints... in mama + baby groupings, among many other refreshingly simple, colorful and unique designs. Dee&Lala provides a fantastic collection of cards, wallprints and housewares that merge the likes of beavers, candy jars, porcupines, ski lifts, cherry soda and worms to name a few of my favorites. Just plain charming.
blabla kids: the "Peeko" boogaloo and "Ukelele" birdie rattle; $67
They say it best: "Happiness fits in the palm of the hand." Blabla welcomes beauty, authenticity and laughter in their most lovely variety of hand knit plush (rattles, dolls, mobiles, purses, finger puppets, pillows, blankets and back packs) and clothing. Made by Peruvian artisans and of natural and amazingly soft fibers, it's just impossible to get enough of this whimsy. And a big hooray! for their newest product lines.
We're all about modern art for modern kids. They promise, "whether your child loves creepy crawlies, sunny flowers or retro robots, you'll find them here." (They forgot to mention their cool collection of friendly aliens.) And I have to add that with (almost) two little boys, I want little more than simple, funky and affordable wall art that provokes imagination sans t.v., video games or computer. All prints are limited edition giclee prints, signed and numbered by the artist, and carefully reproduced with archival inks on 100% cotton paper. Available framed or unframed with cut mat included. "Colors and lines for growing minds."
Fun, colorful prints and soft plush fabrics make One Lucky Baby products cozy and stylish. We've been a fan from the beginning, especially taken by the fact that each item is handcrafted for durability and years of love! Be sure to browse the shop- just recently re-stocked with minky baby blankets, bib and burp sets, hooded towels and toddler items. They make for one lucky baby!
cucuyo designs: one cucuyo travel set, including a matching ori (changing pad) and new! honu (travel blanket); $86
Meet a brand-new design-centric company founded by 2 moms and childhood best friends that saw a need for "on the go" products.. and delivered well. Cucuyo allows for flexibility and comfort for modern parents and babies with their Ori changing station that fits both infants and toddlers, opens into a soft, cushy pad with an adjustable pillow and an invisible bottom pocket that holds the diapers and wipes. But there's more than meets the eye: beyond the soft flannel interior and water proof exterior (machine washable), owners Ana and Laura show their love for the planet and the little people in it with their environmentally conscious designs. Cucuyo products are made in the USA in a fair work environment and with earth friendly materials. We're especially excited to hear more of the newest member of the Cucuyo family that has yet to even make its public debut: the Honu travel blanket (pictured above). Be sure to check pack for exciting product updates.
mango ink: a $75 gift certificate towards the winner's choice of announcements or thank you cards.
Mango Ink creates photo cards with personality: "sweet, tasty and unique" like the owners' very own love for mangoes. Design expertise plus incredible mom-inspired vision and fashion has yielded quality, reasonably priced, hand-mounted cards with quick and reliable service for those occasions that matter most. Be sure to browse the catalog for dozens of styles we're tempted to promise may fast become solid favorites.
little pharo: $50 gift certificate for purchase of your favorite Little Pharo products.
We always say we want the best for our babies and Little Pharo (just launched this month) has materialized this hope. They provide the ultimate in luxury layette with 100% Extra-Long Staple Egyptian Cotton. It's known to be unmatched- the best in the world with extraordinary softness and durability. The designs are simple, as layette should be, with an ancient Egyptian logo symbolizing eternal life, said to bestow immortality to anyone who posses it, sewn onto each garment. Like we said- giving your little Pharo the most hopeful of starts. Better yet, a portion of the proceeds from each garment sold goes to benefit underprivileged and orphaned children in Africa.
klt works: kiki the kitty onesie and (new) kiki the kitty plush pillow set; $58.
KLT Works embodies all that a true family run company is- reinstating the values that now prove hard to come by. Kristin, artist and new mother, makes wearable (and play-able) art inspired by her love for humor, curiosity and son Sayer. She awakens any child's creative spirit through the colors, textures, modern design and likable characters that make up the mobiles, plush, onesies and pillows of KLT Works. New organic and eco-friendly designs available!
nix baby: 3 sets of socks (6 pair); $48.
Praise Nix Baby owner who saw a void and filled it: one size fits all infant and toddler socks that stay on. These "all star socks" strut old school style in both boy and girl colored sets. So simple. So genius. Make your baby's outfit a "smash hit."
b simple designs: set of 35 personalized notecards of the winner's choice; $54.
"Eco-Smart cards with a conscience" is exactly what Bsimple Designs has created in their collection of baby, children, holiday and wedding invitations, announcements and stationary. Printed on the nicest, 100% recycled archival papers with the lowest impact by companies with sustainable business practices, you're not only getting modern cool and custom, but clearly and thoughtfully green. They're so good in fact that with every order, a tree will be planted in the Atlantic Rainforest.
md moms: one baby silk to-go travel set and one packet of (all-new!) gentle all over clean cleansing towelettes; $40.
Gentle, pure, effective, hypoallergenic, clinically tested, and developed by board-certified pediatricians and moms "who were inspired by the needs of [their] patients and [their] own children to create Baby Silk," we're confident in bringing you a trusted product formulated just for them- the babes. From the carefully chosen ingredients to the thoughtful packaging and their ongoing charitable efforts, MD Moms have a fan in us. Wanting to start your own collection? The "to-go travel set" pairs a sampling of their four diaper bag "must haves."
chittypulga: under the nile organic cotton baby gift basket; $46.
Chittypulga knows how to find tasteful, safe and quality for your little flea- proof in this Under the Nile baby basket: hand-made out organic palm tree leaves and filled with a beautiful newborn sized natural color 2-piece pant-set, hat, swaddle blanket and a teething bear. Not familiar with Chittypulga boutique (and magazine)? Be sure to search their "casual elegance for extraordinary kids".. for the best of brands and frequent sales.

The thing that impressed me and inspired me over and over about these companies is how ordinary people saw a need and decided to fill it. I love that ingenuity and courage to try something new!

Come on Tried and True, make my month!
ReplyDeletekyleandlesley (at) gmail (dot) com
I am totally inspired by dee&lala's prints! My husband and I are expecting our first baby - a boy! - in January, and we've decided to go with an organic theme for his nursery. Lots of earth tones, greens, blues, images of trees and such - and I think those prints would be a fabulous addition. Of course, I'm in love with all of the other items as well - so cute!
ReplyDeleteYay! Pregnant ladies need all the loot they can get.
ReplyDeleteFabulous contest!
ReplyDeleteI have boys so I love it when I see luxurious outfits for them, that are not to girly. Love little pharo!
dana@babyluxedaily.com
Inspiring indeed, that my baby can experience so much beauty in the world and that there are so many moms and women out there who strive to make the world a little better.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the incredible giveaway! I'm inspired by the simpleness of many of the designs - and how nature is the perfect compliment to a newborn. I'm due in a month and hope I can keep this all in mind. Thanks again! afdr3d@umkc.edu

ReplyDeleteBeautiful products. These companies inspire me to KEEP IT SIMPLE with my own kiddo and give him an enviroment where his own creativity and exploration can shine. Love those socks and simple/retro art pieces!
ReplyDeleteWith baby #3 and feeling the 103 degree heat, I was a little unmotivated to have a mom's tea to celebrate my upcoming birth. But the chance to win so many pretties has left me inspired. I will escape with some great girlfriends and maybe I'll be rewarded with one of your sweet giveaways!
ReplyDeleteThey inspire me to consider what I am voting for with every dollar I spend. If moms in the US refused to buy cheap toys made in sweatshops or under poor working conditions, companies would NOT make them anymore! This year I am going to try for a fair-trade/handmade-only Christmas, at least for my daughter. A few quality toys like these are better than a pile of cheap Wal-Mart ones.
ReplyDeleteOh, and the Baby Bisou also inspires me to give my little girl a big hug and cuddle! I am a baby carrier ADDICT.
Thanks for the great contest!
the_other_alice_(at)yahoo.com

ReplyDeleteI think the MOM MD products look great using natural ingredients, and I also love their philosophy of giving. This their their charity is http://www.oscarlitwakfoundation.org/ which make long term hospital stay a little more comforting! Thanks!!
Inspires me to leave a comment!!
ReplyDeleteMy first son, Jack, turned one in May, and lately he's been acting (and looking) more and more like a little boy and less like a little baby. Seeing all these great products makes me want to take the plunge and have baby number two!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am in the process of opening my very own Etsy shop. My goal is to have it up and running sometime in October. I am so inspired by all these brilliant, talented artists who have such gorgeous, handmade, one-of-a-kind items. It feels so thrilling to follow your dreams and to see others who are doing the same!
Bring on baby #2... in addition to all these great products, of course! I love the designs provided by Mango Ink and am ready to start creating an announcement. The colors in the letterpress prints from dee&lala are dreamy, and I'm left feeling inspired on a new direction in decor for the nursery.
ReplyDeleteMy son will be 5 months old tomorrow and although we had a baby shower, we didn't get any cool, mom-made gifts like these!
ReplyDeleteThese companies really inspire me to try and open my own shop, either Etsy or someplace else. I have a few ideas of things that might make moms' lives easier, or else more stylish! I'd so love one of those Baby Bijou carriers.
Thanks so much for sharing and how inspiring you two are for wanting to gift another mom with stuff that you love!
I love the changing pad and blanket, very compact and cute design. Anything to make my life easier as a mom of 2 month old twins!
ReplyDeleteWow!! What a great giveaway! I LOVE the mango ink announcements and the minky blankets! And those socks.... soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the designs at Mango Ink. They're so refreshing. It's exactly what I've been looking for in a baby announcement.
ReplyDeleteLovely! I'm inspired by the wonderful colors (and color combinations) of the various products! Thanks for such a fun giveaway =)
ReplyDeleteI am inspired to someday hopefully sell my own baby products!! I also would give away some of these products and keep a few...I love to give gifts!!
ReplyDeletewow - what lovely products! My baby boy is one now but it's inspiring to see how much products have improved (more green and organic available) than even one year ago when I was searching and hunting left and right for organic and modern things for my boy!
ReplyDeletetvollowitz at aol dot com
I love the baby carriers, perfect for a baby or a toddler. I feel inspired that it could even convince my husband to have baby number 4 or may just keep me happy with the three I have.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of inspiration there!
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired to get creative, take more pictures, knit again and make some cute socks!
Thanks for the chance!

I am inspired in two main ways: in my own creativity (I have recently begun sewing again and am enjoying it SO SO MUCH!), and in the desire to keep my children's lives as simple and beautiful as possible--beauty is more important than abundance!
ReplyDeleteWow - this is an incredibly generous giveaway. What a special treat for whoever wins (hope it's me!). I'm due with my first in October.
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired by the fact that all of these products come from mother-run companies. It makes me believe that I can fulfill my dream of having my own shop too, even after the little one arrives.

I am inspired to get through the next 8 final weeks of this pregnancy, and as I visualize our family with our new addition, I look forward to the day our baby is born. Looking at all this beautiful baby stuff like the cute Pink Bundler from Little Pharo, really makes me more anxious and excited to hold our baby and dress her and swaddle her! This is our 5th child and I am very experienced but always nervous when it comes closer to labor and delivery day! Thanks for the boost!
ReplyDeletekenzkween at hotmail dot com
Wow, all of these products seem amazing. I am particularly interested and inspired to try the Nix Baby Socks. With a two year old and a newborn, finding functional socks has become such a frustration to me. These would be wonderful!

ReplyDeleteoreo89 [at] gmail [dot] com
I forgot to say that the products and companies mentioned above have inspired me to continue my mission to buy from companies with a mission and a history instead of just the big chains. I love that these are mom owned companies!!

ReplyDeletewow... what an amazing line up of prizes! Baby Bijou inspires me to keep baby-wearing! On their site they say baby-wearing can even make baby smarter!
ReplyDeleteLittle Uni has UNIQUE baby clothes which reminds me of the uniqueness of each of our children. My babies tend to have hand-me-downs and sometimes I have to rely on setting to tell which baby is in a certain picture! I certainly could avoid that problem with these uniquely sweet clothes.
The Dee & Lala cards remind me that simple can be so beautiful! They inspire me to get busy writing thank-you cards!
My son has a blabla lion and he adores it. He is almost 5 and he still sleeps with it every night!

I love that BSimple says "for every order Bsimple receives, a tree will be planted in The Atlantic Rainforest as part of the Nature Conservancy’s “Plant a Billion Trees” campaign." Amazing.
What beautiful gifts!
i feel inspired to stop attempting to make all my family and friends baby gifts when all these baby things are so much cuter! i have like 5 friends due soon who could really put these things to good use.
ReplyDeleteI love the blabla toys...they are so sweet and even better, made by local artisians!

ReplyDeleteThe baby bisou inspires me to take one more trip this fall with my 8 month old while she can still stay close in a carrier. We need to take a nice trip while she is still containable!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Wow all of these products are amazing. I am expecting baby number two in November and would love all of these things. Two things that really stand out to me are the lucky baby blankets they look so soft and I love the knit stuffed dolls.
ReplyDeleteI am inspired by all these sites to do more window shopping (and hopefully some for-real shopping!) for our little boy we are adopting from Russia. It helps to pass the time as we wait for our court date and return for him :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a collection! You girls just went for the creme de la creme!
ReplyDeleteEach one of these shops is top of the line in authenticity, simplicity and beauty.
My children are to old for these but in the spirit of a virtual shower, we've got a real one coming up over here and it would be so nice to present the mom with not just one special gift but many special gifts.
Wow!!! This is amazing. My little guys would love snuggling up in the blankets and I would LOVE wearing my littlest one in the sling. I just LOVE it all. The owl artprint was one of my favs. Such adorable, fun, modern stuff from some amazing moms. Thanks for this opportunity!!!!

ReplyDeleteSome of these companies are already in my "favorites" list and some are new, but I've sure had fun looking into them more - and loving what I see! Love the simplicity and freshness of so many of them - not cutesy, but still super cute in modern, organic, clean-lined ways.
I'm 4 weeks today from our due date with our first mystery babe ... and we finally shook hands on a boy's name and so I feel wonderful. Either can arrive any time and we will know them by name.
{My sister's due any day as well with their first and I'm hankering to do a fun photo shoot with the two cousins ... and that's where the Little Uni name shirts would be so perfect!!}
Congratulations Tangled and True on baby shower #7. What an amazing giveaway! I am inspired by all things handmade, and love to see mom entrepreneurs. Could I have what it takes within me? How could you not be inspired by the beautiful items and generosity of these companies? I know baby #3 (due in December) would LOVE them.

What an awesome package!!! What inspires me is the fact that more and more companies are being more eco-conscious, are donating proceeds to children's charities, or are benefitting other's in poor countries (ie, Peruvian handmades), and in return we get adorable, eco-friendly baby products that you don't feel badly for purchasing! So neat to draw attention to these companies! Thank you! Great giveaway - thanks for offering it!

What a ton of great prizes! The mango company's blurb on your site inspired me to actually get thinking about announcements before our #1 gets here in November - I should have them picked and ready so maybe I can have them for Christmas... :)
ReplyDeleteI am inspired by the fact that these are mom-run companies. I am still in the stage with my little guy where there doesn't seem to be much beyond my house. It is good to know that life can continue. This a really great collection of gear. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteWow- the creativity & generosity of mothers never ceases to amaze me! These mama-run businesses inspire me to get back to being creative with and for my 2 girls, who are 22 months and 10 weeks... as well as to give more and do more for mothers and their babes in my community. These women also have me thinking about getting back to my own creative enterprises- a huge gift in itself. Thanks for putting together such a great VBS!
ReplyDeleteI love finding great products by woman-owned companies. I'm definitely inspired by that. I'm also a little driven to get started on our next baby. We've been wanting to, but maybe this is all the incentive we need! Email: jennae at greenyourdecor dot com
