What songs do you guys try to sing with your babies? This is the list I sing, but I could always use more...ideas?
Popcorn Popping
The Hokie Pokie (she loves!)
Row, Row, Row The Boat
Itsy Bitsy Spider
All The Colors of the Rainbow (came with the leapster)
Give Said the Little Stream
Where is Thumbkin
I sing these at nighttime as we're getting her ready for bed...
I Am A Child of God
Teach Me To Walk in the Light
Child's Prayer
Puff the Magic Dragon
Cole loves "All around the mullberry bush" (and we do a big "pop" on my knees when it says "pop goes the weasle"); Have you heard "I stuck my head in the little skunks hole?" That's one we've been doing lately; Peas Porridge Hot...; Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes; Little Bunny Foo FOo;
ReplyDeleteOur bedtime songs: I am Like a Star; Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star; You are my Sunshine; The Sand Man Song.
You have some good ones. We'll have to switch things up a bit. (Cole loves the hokie pokie too. We do it when I'm getting him dressed. AND Itsy Bitsy Spider has made him smile since he was a newborn.)
Wow. Those are good. I don't know Little Bunny Foo Foo or the skunk one or the Sand Man Song. I'll have to do pop goes the weasel.
ReplyDeleteAnother nighttime one is Hush Little Baby.
The Sand Man song is my favorite:
ReplyDelete"Sleep tight- Sand Man is coming and he'll be here mighty mighty soon and if you don't cry...he'll be comming by with a great big lollypop too."
"Oh, I stuck my head in a little skunk's hole and the little skunk said 'Well- bless my soul! Take it out, take it out, take it out, take it out, remove it!' Well, I didn't remove it and the little skunk said, 'take it out, take it out, or you'll wish you had. Take it out, take it out, take it out, take it out, remove it."
Pssssssss. I removed it. Too LATE!"
I'll have to try to find them online so I can hear the tunes. They sound like cute songs.
ReplyDeleteYou two are so good! I usually make up some off the wall songs that rhyme with Isobel or Izzy...they are really random and a few of them have stuck since the first week. I also throw in some of the nursery rhymes you both have mentioned. Not all of them , but some.
ReplyDeletehave you been to lds.org and played the interactive hymns? Sometimes I sing from the children's songbook.
