I just saw this style board on the hostess blog, and realized I may have done Finn's nursery all wrong.

Clearly I'm in an alphabet mood today, but don't you love this?

alphabet cards.

There are a lot of alphabet cards out there, but I'm a total sucker for anything vintage, and so of course I have my eye on these cards.

tastybaby.

Today while on a field trip to Whole Foods with Stella, I happened upon some tastybaby samples. Finn gobbled them down, grunting for more. I picked up a couple boxes based on his initial reaction only to find the label was created by two young moms, it's minimally processed, contains no additives, preservatives or stabilizers. There are flavors in stages 1, 2 and 3 with flavor combinations that even I want to try. It's a good choice all the way around.

max and lucie.

I spent some time this weekend at a vintage street faire. It was everything a street faire should be, while browsing the goods, I came across max and lucie. The jewelry was feminine and vintage and absolutely perfect. I am really loving these earrings.

paper + twine.

If you're in the market for some notecards, these are amazing! Illustrated and hand gocco printed, a set of 4 is only $9. I am having a hard time deciding on the design I like best.

too early?

I love finding little treasures in my inbox. Magpie Lovely is the latest, and the shop has me wondering if it is too early to start a Christmas list? What do you think?

I hope my husband is reading, because whether or not it's time.. the list has started.

This needs to make it's way into our home! Love the colors, design and the simple reminder to be happy and be yourself, two things I hope my kids are learning.

Gold Rain necklace. It's simple and classic. I'm not a huge jewelry person, but I think this would be the perfect addition to many ensembles.

I've already admitted, I'm loving the ruffles, which makes this shirt a must-have! I might not be able to make it to Christmas.

What will you be adding to your list? That is.. if you're willing to start one this early.

breakfast.

Ryan works with the youth at our church which means he is gone on Wednesday nights, it also means our Wednesday night dinners tend to be on the easy side. Occasionally we like to have breakfast for dinner to change things up a bit. Tonight I cracked open The New Best Recipe Cookbook and we tried out the Light and Fluffy Pancakes. They were really good, easy to make and just like the name.. light and fluffy.

Light and Fluffy Pancakes
makes about sixteen 4 inch pancakes
Serving 4 to 6

1 T juice from 1 lemon
2 cups milk
2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
2 T sugar
2 t baking powder
1/2 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1 large egg
3 T unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
1-2 t vegetable oil

1. Whisk the lemon juice and milk together in a medium bowl or large measuring cup; set aside to thicken while preparing the other ingredients. Whisk the dry ingredients in a medium bowl to combine.

2. Whisk the egg and melted butter into the milk until combined. make a well in the center of the dry ingredients in the bowl; pour in the milk mixture and whisk very gently until just combined (a few lumps should remain). Do not overmix.

3. Heat a 12-inch skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, add 1 t oil and brush to coat the skillet bottom evenly. Pour 1/4 c batter onto 3 spots on the skillet. Cook the pancakes until large bubbles begin to appear, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Flip and cook until golden brown on the second side. Serve immediately.

If you don't have this cookbook. It's definitely worth the $$. Every recipe I have ever tried has been excellent.

ruffles.

I am really liking ruffles lately. Ann Taylor Loft has some solid ruffle choices.

I wish this cardigan came in multiple colors.. what are your favorite ruffle pieces you've seen? I'm looking to add to my less than stellar wardrobe.

*also major bonus points if you can send me links to some toddler/girls cardigans in good solid colors with some kind of fun detail (i.e. ruffles, flowers, beading..)

cast your vote.

For the Kindergartner: Which would you choose?

A. Jack Purcell: Classic, clean, goes with most anything.

B. Morgan and Milo: A little glam, neutral color, won't show dirt as quickly.

C. Old - School Vans: Flashy color, fun, reminiscent of my own school days.

D. Chuck Taylor: Slip on + Slip off, classic.

All similar in price, all brands that wear well and hold up. I have two I lean towards, let's hear your votes and opinions.. Would you choose A, B, C or D?

you won't believe this.

This little piece of genius showed up in my inbox this week and boy do I want one! A solution to the terrible task of changing a crib sheet.

Complete with pull out drawer for easy access, natural bamboo slats, extra storage and wheels.
