bobinette.

Drawing from her upbringing in Paris, a city where tradition blends with modernity, travels and world cultures, Lorraine Le Tac creates eclectic and versatile collections.

Since having a baby boy it has become my quest to search out and find the best in little boys clothing. I am determined for him to dress every bit as good as the girls, to not wear giant characters on his chest, and to be able to display some type of originality. With bobinette inspiration is drawn from faraway lands including India, Asia, North Africa and beyond. While that sets them apart all on it's own, the clothing itself is high quality, washes well and uses soft comfortable fabric. No fighting to wear a button up shirt will be required.

bobinette meets all the requirements as to what little boys clothing should be. View the entire collection here.

dylbug.

I've recently become a big fan of screen printing. I love the way it looks and feels, the way it washes and looks a little worn in, and the way it allows kids to wear something a little more personal, and a little less character like. I was introduced to dylbug not long ago and am completely taken by the line.

The colors, the vintage inspiration, the simple sayings all combine to make t-shirt love for me. It's style and function in perfect harmony. Each t-shirt is designed with care and time, packaged to perfection and makes the perfect gift (although I'm happy to be gifting myself with these).

My fav's are the retro rider collection and they're on sale.. you better believe I'll be stocking up on these.

party inspiration.

Just saw this party idea on Modeco kids. Love it!

squeeze hugs.

It's not often you find a web boutique that has just as many stylish boy clothes as they do girl clothes. Which is why I find squeeze hugs to be so refreshing.  At squeeze hugs you'll find hand selected brands like room seven, charlie rocket, rowdy sprouts and misha lulu. They're reinventing the one-stop shop and they're doing it well, they don't just specialize in clothing, they've selected the best in decoraccessoriesplaytime and more.

Shopping with squeeze hugs leaves me with a feeling of confidence. They guarantee each item in their shop is something they'd use for their very own child. So be sure to stop by this corner of the web, you just might find yourself inspired and relaxed as you surf through the best in European and American designers all in one place.

an old favorite.

These are the latest addition to the girls shoe collection. I love them for so many reasons...

*they bring back memories of my own childhood
*they wear well and last the whole summer
*they are easy to clean
*they never go out of style making them the perfect shoe to pass along

my only issue, should I have bought them in orange instead? I'm thinking they might just have to have both.

epicurean style {giveaway!}

Epicurean Style is a vintage-inspired apron company that proves beauty, style and practicality can all be one. Styles are influenced by romantic visions of the past and are designed in vibrant colors, delightful patterns, and figure flattering shapes. These fine quality, retro-chic aprons make the perfect fashion accessory in or out of the kitchen.

Oh boy am I excited about today's giveaway. I have waited and waited for this day.. I found these aprons long before the launch of the website on a photographer's blog. It was love at first site. I knew I had to have one of these beautiful aprons. They inspired me, spoke to me and reminded me that..

there is so much more to wearing an apron than just in the kitchen. Bathtime, Feeding the little ones, gardening or cleaning. It can be the perfect accessory to any daunting task and wearing one might actually make those tasks slightly less daunting, making you feel a bit more feminine which is always a good thing.

My favorite apron is the Penelope. I find it to be perfectly lovely.

And when one side gets dirty, or your looking for a change, just flip the apron around for a whole new look.

There are multiple styles to choose from, some come in kits for you to make your own, and others come fully made. Which apron is calling your name?

I think its safe to say that in the world today times are tough. When I opened Seeing the Everyday this month, it was so refreshing to read about the good. Simple and good. I walked away from reading with a little lighter step.

cupcakes.

Today is the girls birthday party. I was up way too late and now way too early preparing. I made a cupcake recipe from scratch that might be the best I've ever tasted. Seriously.. you should try it sometime. With this buttercream frosting recipe. It won't disappoint.

Yellow Butter Cupcakes

3 cups cake flour (not self rising), sifted
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 1/4 t. baking powder
1 1/2 t. coarse salt
3/4 t. baking soda
10 ounces (2 1/2 sticks) butter unsalted softened
2 1/4 cups sugar
6 large eggs, plus 3 large yolks, room temperature
2 cups buttermilk, room temperature
1 T. pure vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350. Whisk dry ingredients in a bowl. Cream butter and sugar with a mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each addition. Reduce speed to low. Mix any remaining wet ingredients in a bowl if needed. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture in 3 additions, alternating with remaining wet ingredients and always ending with dry. Scrape sides of bowl. Fill 2/3 full. Bake about 20 minutes. Let cool on wire racks.

Enjoy!
